Today I had the pleasure of reLoving 2 fabulous pieces of jewelry, each belonging to sisters.
"Grandma", as everyone called her, had kept a heart pendant that her first boyfriend had given her. As I carefully inspect the engraving on the heart it said on one side "To Toni, Love" and on the other side "From Tony, Love" dated 2/14/1960. It was a Valentine's Gift to Grandma and so her daughter asked me if I could do anything with it. She also included an old watch and said her sister wanted me to try to fix it up as well.
Not really knowing what I was going to do with these items, I opened my toolbox and began working on these two (very precious) pieces that meant so much to these sisters.
So here we have it, a zebra print cuff with Ma's watch face AND a charm cuff with ma's valentine heart and charm that says #1 Grandma!
The tears flowed and many hugs and thank you's were generously given to me but truthfully, I didn't do anything really. Just goes to show that you can take grandpa's ole, worn out belt and combine it with grandma's brooch, pendant, favorite broken earring, or whatever you like and turn it into a reLoved bracelet cuff that can be worn by you, or passed on to your daughter's daughter.
BEFORE you throw away an old broken piece of jewelry that grandma once had, feel free to give me a call and maybe I can rework it into something you'll cherish for years to come.
Danielle & Michelle ~ thank you both for the trust you instilled in me to creatively reinvent Grandma's jewelry! xoxo
